Naberezhnye Chelny — is the city in the North-Ea st of Tatarstan on the left bank of Kama river.
The population is 510 thousand people.
The first thing attracting your attention in the city is that there are no names of the streets we've got used to — only figures. It goes back to the times of building KAMAZ, when the city was divided into «complexes» (the notion close to the old «district», but originates from architectural «complexes»). For instance, the address of «Swiss House» is Moskowskiy avenue, 81» can be simply said «9/22» that is building 22 in complex 9. Actually, if you ask a passer-by about the location of this or that street, or try to learn the «official» number of the house, you are hard to receive any answer, but if you tell the number of the building and the complex according to the coordination system of Chelny, you are sure to get the answer.
The Entertainment industry is rapidly developing in Naberezhnye Chelny. Today there are 10 casinos, various night clubs, playing machines halls, billiards plus all the possible cafes, bars, restaurants, fashionable bowling halls. This is the reason why the city has been nicknamed «Las Vegas of Tatarstan».
Of course in Russia the city is best known as the land of KAMAZ trucks and OKA cars. It's quite natural that in the city you are sure to find a great number of Companies offering cars, trucks, spares and all the possible supplementary accessory.
